AWS is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to support the growth of our AWS Partner Strategic Initiatives team. The Portfolio Manager role must drive scale of the initiative across a diverse Partner base, a growing team, and large group of internal stakeholders. The level of ambiguity in the Portfolio Manager role is high, driven by our expanding scope, and pioneering of new business requirements in the areas of business planning, contracting, business approvals, project governance, and reporting. As a result, the Portfolio Manager must have a deep understanding of the business’ and end user’s needs, and proficiently translate those needs into the right solution.

In addition, the Portfolio Manager must be skilled in identifying and leveraging internal/external tools to capture status of ongoing engagements, report on status to key internal/external stakeholders, and enable leadership the ability to easily audit the results of the overall business. As a global initiative with a broad scope, breaking new ground will allow and require the Portfolio Manager to recommend improvements to the way projects/programs are scoped, built, tested and deployed across the organization. The Portfolio Manager will be tasked with defining an operating model and supporting business objectives in order to deliver the best product or process with the most efficient use of resources and technologies. Automation of our key processes will be critical to our ability to scale effectively.

The Portfolio Manager is tasked with influencing key stakeholders across AWS. As new stakeholders join the initiative, the Portfolio Manager may be active in the training and/or development of others. The Portfolio Manager must also be skilled in Earning Trust and understanding the needs and objectives of a variety of roles within the team and the larger organization. The Portfolio Manager establishes and maintains an overall governance of their partner portfolio and can support critical relationships with our internal stakeholders. The Portfolio Manager must bring a department and company-wide perspective to decision making supported by strong business acumen. Given the limited resources it is critical that the Portfolio Manager operates with significant autonomy and discretion. This is especially critical when considering when to escalate critical business issues, as the frequency, size and manner of escalation must demonstrate good judgment and appropriate prioritization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high energy environment. They will be a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for delivering results.
