Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) First Quarter Profit Trails Estimates; Stock Tumbles – DELL, AAPL, SMCI, SGI

Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL) announced on Friday that it fiscal Q1 profit failed to meet Wall Street forecasts, highlighting the worsening guidance that led the world’s third biggest computer maker’s founder to seek a buyout designed to reinvigorate expansion.

The Round Rock, Texas-based Dell declared in a statement that profit without special items moved down to 21 cents per share for three months period that finished May 3, from 43 cents per share in the same period a year ago.

Bloomberg gathered data confirms that analysts on average forecasted 35 cents per share. Quarterly revenue fell 2.4% to $14.1 billion, surpassing analysts’ medina forecasts of $13.5 billion.
