Job Description : | Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring all consumer loan applications submitted through various channels are underwritten within regulatory compliance, desired time frames, stated limits and credit union standards. Requires the interpretation and application of departmental policies and procedures. Ability to work from home while reporting to the office for meetings and training as needed.Essential Duties: Utilize multiple lending platforms to decision loan applications.Decision loans within designated authority using the Consumer Loan Policy and underwriting guidelines within the desired turnaround times.Ensure compliance with applicable Federal and/or State laws and regulations.Assist as many members as possible while maintaining the safety and soundness of St. Louis Community Credit Union (SLCCU).Communicate effectively with employees and members while maintaining confidentiality of all loan application data.Review documentation related to loan decisions.Assist SLCCU in achieving company goals by completing special projects and miscellaneous assignments or functions as assigned by the AVP and SVP of Lending.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and/or equivalent work experience in underwriting a high volume of consumer loans, ideally nonprime and subprime, for at least two (2) years.Understand consumer loan documents, regulations and processing.Communicate clearly with credit union members and staff in writing and on the phone.Accurately work with numbers, Excel and legal documents.Handle pressure and deadlines.Set priorities and meet established goals.Service and team oriented in both attitude and performance.Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
