The Controller is responsible for the direct supervision of the accounting operations of the company, which includes the monthly close process, monthly billings to clients, collection of accounts receivable, supervising accounts payable, job cost, payroll, POC, monthly reporting to Executive Management, budgeting, tax filings, treasury administration, integration of company acquisitions, and production of the monthly financial statements. The Controller will also implement and maintain policies and procedures to make the close, reporting process, internal controls, and audit more efficient while mitigating risk and enhancing the accuracy of the company’s financial results in compliance with GAAP. A detailed list of responsibilities follows:Major ResponsibilitiesMonth End Process – Ensure all manual journal entries, intercompany, elimination, and parent company’s allocation entries in accordance with GAAP and the month-end checklist followcompany closing procedures. Assure accuracy of all sub-ledgers. Prepare reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts. Prepare fixed asset, depreciation, and amortization entries. Produce consolidated month-end financial statements for both internal and external users as directed by Executive Management.Manage Accounting Staff – Manage workload balance, scheduling, and professional development for accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, job cost, and general ledger currently for one staff member.Accounts Payable – ensure vendor invoices are input daily and properly coded.Billing – Manage the billing of individual projects daily.Accounts Receivable – ensure collections are received in a timely manner according to contractual terms and revise AFDA schedule as required.Job Cost – make sure all costs are properly reflected in each projectPayroll/Commissions – record all payroll and calculate commissions and properly record all transactions into the general ledger.Percentage of Completion (POC) – timely and accurate calculation and recording of the POC schedule.Daily Transactions – Assure that all daily transactions are performed and accurately recorded on a daily basis to promote real-time management reporting. Assure that all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Cost, Payroll, Sales Tax, State Tax Filings, and General Ledger transactions are properly recorded.Sales and Use Tax Reporting – ensure all reporting is done timely and in compliance with state, local, and federal guidelines.Treasury – Daily reconciliation of all bank accounts and daily cash flow.Annual Budgets – Lead Stellar’s annual budgeting process and create measurement KPI’s.Annual Audit – Provide support for the annual audit request for segment requirements.Background RequirementsBS in Accounting or FinanceCPA required7 years of financial experience5 years of management experience in a senior roleKnowledge and SkillsExcellent verbal, written, organizational and analytical skillsAccomplished in managing and developing department personnelHands-on management styleSelf-starterProficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel at an advanced levelQuickBooks experience is a MUSTJob Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:10 hour shift12 hour shift8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
