Job Description : About this role:

Wells Fargo Credit Sales & Trading is seeking an Associate level Credit Strategist to be based in Charlotte, NC or New York City. Under the leadership of the Head of Credit Strategy, the Credit Strategist will be expected to produce thematic market analysis and actionable investment ideas across all Credit market products, including investment grade, high yield and leveraged loans. Additional job functions and responsibilities include delivering client-facing presentations, regular engagement with Sales & Trading and other internal partners, producing weekly strategy reports and providing solutions to ad-hoc requests.

Candidates should demonstrate a baseline understanding of credit markets, a demonstrated drive for learning about the credit markets, and display an ability to collaborate with business partners across groups. The Credit Strategist will work with each respective Credit Desk – Investment Grade and Leveraged Finance – to align Credit Strategy with Wells Fargo’s strategic priorities, including client prioritization across different market segments, determining the scope of market coverage and facilitating communication with business partners in sales, trading and syndicate. All aspects will be under the guidance and leadership of the Head of Credit Strategy. Potential candidates will work directly with support partners, such as Compliance, to ensure they are within the policies and regulations that govern research strategist conduct.

In this role, you will:
Review and analyze moderately complex, diversified investment portfolios, business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Advise and manage globally diverse investment and asset portfolios, develop and execute client investment strategy
Provide advice to generate returns commensurate with an acceptable level of risk for the client
Independently resolve moderately complex issues
Lead team to meet financial and non-financial asset opportunities to integrate into the overall investment plan for clients, project, process, deliverables
Leverage solid understanding of policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid level managers to resolve client issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams and serve as a mentor for less experienced staff
Required Qualifications, US:
4+ years of Securities Strategies experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree or higherA Master’s degree or higherA Masters of Business Administration (MBA)An active Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
1 + years as a publishing strategist, market segment analyst and/or industry experience within a specific market segment.
Energetic, detail-oriented self-starter with excellent communication and management skills.
A team-oriented mindset as the credit strategist will work in close partnership with the various business teams and relevant support partners
Experience with credit strategy and research
Job Expectations:
Travel Ability to travel up to 20% of the timeRegistration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
