Position Summary
The Finance Department Analyst is responsible for management and maintenance of the financial and analytical data used by the Department, as well as the maintenance of all related systems, with a specific focus on the presentation of relevant, reliable, and accurate information to management and third parties.
Essential Functions
Responsible for maintenance and development of Finance Department systems, including but not limited to the general ledger, budgeting and forecasting, reconciliation and SEC filing software.
Develop reports providing analytical data and other relevant information to management and the Board as requested, using Finance Department systems, other Bank systems, excel, and/or other data obtained from a third party.
Monitor and maintain user roles to Finance Department systems necessary to provide appropriate privileges while preserving controls.
Maintenance and improvement to all excel based reports used by the financial reporting division.
Preparation of press releases and related presentations as needed.
Additional Functions
Perform other general accounting functions, assisting or acting as a backup for the following:
Assisting with the monthly close as needed
Assisting with SEC filings such as 8-Ks, 10-Q and 10-K
Assisting with regulatory reports such as the Call Report and Y-9s
Provide backup to other Finance Team functions as needed
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
Minimum 3 years accounting experience.
Banking and regulatory/SEC reporting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of Accounting and Budgeting systems
Strong excel skills
Licenses and Certifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Fiserv System.
Excellent math skills
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and reporting of financial data.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including proficiency in Word and Excel.
Excellent math skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to effectively present and communicate information and respond to inquiries from senior management, departments, auditors, and other third parties.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense logic and critical thinking to solve problems and make sound judgments and decisions.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to provide direct supervision to subordinate staff members.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time over 75% of work hours.
Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel.
Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information.
Ability to talk, listen and see.
Ability to use telephone to communicate with internal and external individuals.
Working Conditions
Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
