Job Summary:

The Procurement Finance Manager will provide key financial and strategic support to the procurement and supply chain/ commercial finance teams. The role is expected to provide value added insights and gain a deep understanding into all direct and indirect costs identifying areas of opportunity and risk. This role must be a strong strategic business partner and be able to distill large quantities of data and qualitative information to present strategic business insights in a clear, concise manner to leadership. This role will regularly interact with the VP of supply chain finance, the VP of procurement, procurement directors and category managers, senior leaders and business partners across multiple functions and plants.Effectiveness depends on a thorough understanding of procurement categories and the ability to build strong relationships with business partners, being able to effectively communicate and influence across a large number of functional groups. This is a newly created role and will require a talented proactive individual who can drive change in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Collaborate and challenge cross-functional partners to achieve concrete results; be able to deliver with limited support from others; possess sound interpersonal skills; and be able to influence leadership, peer groups, and usual business contacts.
Coordinate the financial planning and reporting process for the procurement organization (component standard setting, customer cost card updates, annual operating plan, monthly PPV variance analysis, latest estimates and risks & opportunities, and hedge reporting/accounting).
Provide high quality business performance management to support the delivery of financial targets (monthly PPV and cost savings reporting, communication of financial performance and discussion of variance and R&O’s with stakeholders through the month-end functional and leadership reviews).
Provide solid understanding of key business drivers and develop a deep understanding of savings initiatives and spend budgets across all plants and categories.
Manage savings sign-offs with business partners and finance stakeholders, ensuring alignment across procurement, supply chain finance, and operations.
Provide communication on latest estimates/R&O and facilitate monthly procurement meetings, ensuring alignment and highlighting any issues across functions.
Own monthly financial close activities for procurement – working closely with accounting and supply chain finance teams to complete journal entries, hedge activities, rebate accruals, profit and loss analysis, PPV analysis, create variance reports and commentaries.
Drive working capital improvements through identification of opportunities and ownership of payment terms.
Develop and enhance efficient processes/systems to measure and forecast PPV, and being relentless in pursuit of cost saving opportunities
Guide an appropriate control environment across procurement operations (in compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, risk management and accounting standards).

Required Competencies & Knowledge:Knowledge of:

Mproducts, and production processes anufactured
Knowledge of accounting and finance principles
Knowledge and experience with SAP am with an emphasis on procurement activities Cost ccounting or anufacturing accounting experience
Commodity hedging and pricing

Skill in:

Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must have ability to effectively interface with plant, corporate office personnel, and senior leaders across multiple locations.
Strong oral communication skills required.
Must be able to effectively work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

Ability to:

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Successfully multi-task
Ensure collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regula to ry agencies and Hearthside staff.

Proficiency in:

MS Office Suite and SAP or ERP equivalent

Work Environment:

Work is primarily done in an office settingwith some travel to supported plants
Infrequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time
Stand, walk, climb stairs on an infrequent basis
Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA in Finance or Accounting with experience in a CPG company preferred.
Minimum 7 years’ experience with previous managerial experience.
Organized, flexible and able to work effectively across the organization
Solid financial analysis ability – knowledge of financial systems and multidimensional databases (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
