Job Description : | Family Child Development Center (FCDC) is a community based nonprofit childcare center and preschool program. It is our goal to provide children an early learning experience that support’s their individual needs by meeting children where they are at and creating active partnerships with parents and families.FCDC is looking to hire a Financial Administrative Specialists to help support our administrative team with task’s that include conducting bookkeeping and finance related tasks, in addition to employee benefits. Hours required would be from 1:00-6:00pm. This start date for this position is flexible but the ideal candidate would be available to begin work by the middle of March 2022.Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and QuickBooks.The ideal candidate must have: Strong understanding and application of basic Accounting Principles.High level of organizational skills with specific focus on attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.Candidates must be trustworthy and able to maintain customer and employee confidentiality.Ability to problems solve, exercising good judgment and discretion to financial and center related business.Ability to work effectively with center families, employees, and administration.Flexible schedule as this position may require varied hours.An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is helpful but not required2-4 years of accounting experience required1-4 years of administrative experience required Financial ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day financial transactions related to the center operations in partnership with the Executive Director. Day-to-day operations include: Accounts Receivable— prepare deposits, issue statements and invoices to parents, service contracts, collection effortsAccounts Payable—invoice entry, check processing, vendor relationship management.Payroll processing—calculation of staff hours, preparation of payroll, submission to payroll service, review and reconcile payroll checks prior to distribution.Prepare adjusting journal entries around monthly financial close.Prepare monthly financial statements for management including researching variances to budget.Maintain general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable master data records in QuickBooks.Perform account reconciliations.Assist in the preparation of financial-related information requests (IRS, insurance applications and audits, CACFP program, Hennepin County, retirement benefit program, bank loans etc.)Participate in the preparation of annual financial audit documentation and field questions from auditors as needed.Provide financial data required for preparation of the annual budget.Manage online banking activity and relationship with banking partner(s).Update Operations Manual (as needed) for updates in financial processes and procedures.Other duties as assignedAdministrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain employee benefit log.Administer medical, dental, life and short- and long-term disability benefit programs for personnel.FundraisingOther duties as assignedJob Type: Part-timePay: $21.00 – $26.00 per hourCOVID-19 considerations:You will be required to wear a mask inside of the center at all times.Education:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
