The department

Overview of the role
This Junior Credit Analyst position is a dual role that will divide time between assisting Fixed Income Corporate Credit Analysts with their fundamental credit research process and supporting the Fixed Income Corporate Credit team as an ESG specialist. Your specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the development and maintenance of financial models, data gathering/analysis, database maintenance, survey construction/results interpretation, regulatory filing/conference call reviews, assisting with sector reviews, and company or industry specific research and due diligence. You will also interact directly with the fixed income quantitative team to conduct security screening and monitoring. As an ESG specialist, you will support credit analysts and portfolio managers in company and thematic research, company engagement calls, and sector and company data benchmarking.
Duties and responsibilities
You will:
Conduct research and analysis to help evaluate investment opportunities.
Build and maintain various excel based financial models (company, industry/sector, macro) to forecast growth, evaluate competitive position within an industry, determine the quality of financial statement information, analyze potential downside scenarios. Collect industry and company data through a variety of channels, including sell-side research firms, internal and external databases, trade publications, web scraping, expert networks and other online sources.
Review and organize data, synthesizes information, and help identify and analyze trends.
Build and maintain various surveys and checks with industry participants.
Participate in company management meetings and general investment team meetings.
Engage directly with senior executives of publicly traded companies as part of the investment research process.
Produce notes on relevant investment themes, earnings and breaking news events.
Synthesize and assess financial industry data.
Conduct ESG research and data benchmarking across sectors and securities by engaging with company management teams.
Incorporate technology solutions and quantitative analytics into the investment process with our quantitative team.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Investment areas
Has responsibility for supporting portfolios that are covered by the Fixed Income research team.
Technical skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong modeling skills required. Must be proficient in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows.
Programming experience with languages including Python, C#, and/or SQL.
Advanced MS Word, Excel, Bloomberg and internet skills.
Understanding of corporate finance and accounting.
Knowledge of main ESG and climate data sets desired.
Knowledge of ESG metrics and their relevance to business performance helpful.

Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $100,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
