Job Description : Purpose of Job The Quantitative Risk Analyst is responsible for the quantitative framework, in particular AML/BAS, Fraud and compliance risk modeling development. This includes responsibility for developing analytics framework of the risk management system, employing quantitative models and cutting edge technologies, and delivering end-to-end solutions utilizing this framework.
We are looking for an experienced professional with strong coding abilities, quantitative skills and financial markets knowledge, preferably having statistical and machine learning modelling expertise. Solid analytical skills, good communications, and being able to work well independently or as part of team are critical for this role. As well as strong coding abilities and intermediate knowledge of Python and experience with vendor-based monitoring solutions

Provides risk management support for a line of business or staff agency in key risk identification, measurement and aggregation, and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate quantitative and analytical practices and processes. Conducts and develops quantitative and analytic models, assessments and/or applications in support of risk management efforts that assess the market and identify risks and gaps in existing or proposed processes. Monitors the risk and control environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels and may consult on risk mitigation plans

Primary Responsibilities:
Utilizes advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
Assesses and mitigates exposures through the identification of key and emerging risks in alignment with the risk strategy and appetite.
Applies knowledge to produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
Produces and communicates analytical content for discussions with cross functional teams, governance committees and business process owners to influence business strategies.
May create statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios, including analyzing and challenging stress testing results and partnering with relevant functions to validate those results.
May engage in model validations, produce model validation reports, measure and aggregate model risks, and/or report on model issues to committees, auditors, and regulators.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
4 years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management. OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline.
Knowledge of federal regulation 12 CFR Part 30, including Appendices A and D and with federal supervisory guidance, to include:
OCC Documents: Large Bank Supervision Handbook; OCC Safety and Soundness Handbooks – Internal Controls, Corporate & Risk Governance, Retail Lending; and key OCC bulletins – Model Risk Governance, Model Risk Management, New Products and Services Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Technology Risk Management, Stress Testing, and Operational Risk
Federal Reserve Documents: Consolidated Supervision Framework for Large Financial Institutions; Federal Reserve Board Bank Holding Company Supervision Manual
FFIEC Manuals and Handbooks to include: Banking

General understanding of federal laws, rules, and regulations, to include: CRA; ECOA; FCRA; MLA; SCRA; Regulation DD; Regulation E; Regulation Z; BSA/AML; and UDAP/UDAAP
Laws and Regulations for illustrative purposes. Roles would need an understanding of all federal and state laws and regulatory guidance applicable to the organization and responsibilities of the role.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years AML experience in transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring and/or watch list filtering in design/validation, statistical analysis and model development. Or Master’s Degree and 2+ years AML experience in transaction monitoring in design/validation, statistical model development. Or PhD and 1 or more years AML related experience in statistical model development.
Experience with vendor-based monitoring solutions such as Actimize and LexisNexis Bridger
Strong coding abilities and intermediate knowledge of Python
CAMS Certification

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $80,200.00 – $144,500.00 *(this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Geographical Differential : Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
