As a Senior Manager on the Global Retail Markets (GRM) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will support the overall planning and governance process for GRM, a $28B global organization with presence in over 16 countries.
As the Senior Manager of the Strategic Decision Support team, you will support complex financial and operational analysis in support of business objectives and strategy as well as provide transparency into the calendar year financial impacts of our strategic decisions. You will be a critical part of helping the GRM President and GRM Chief Financial Officer run and manage the overall GRM business. This includes connecting strategy to financial plans, assessing business performance results, raising critical issues or opportunities, and addressing key questions and financial analyses needed to drive valuable insights. Additionally, this role will be responsible for building out the governance function for strategic investments and expense management to ensure that GRM is able to achieve its long-term goals. You will design the process, set the standards, and facilitate the strategic trade-off discussions with the GRM leadership team for all major strategic investments. For expense management, you will coordinate with Corporate on major corporate expense initiatives, assess broadly where GRM is at in achieving its expense goals, work with Regional CFOs to ensure plans are in place to achieve expense targets, and champion an expense conscious mindset that will be critical in helping GRM achieve a competitive structure. This role will need to be able to build strong relationships and work closely with key roles across the organization including Regional FP&A, GRM Strategy, Global Capital & Risk Management, and Corporate Finance.
The ideal candidate for this role has strong financial planning experience, broad strategic thinking capabilities, experience working across the globe, ability to collaborate well with others, comfort in challenging and asking the right questions, and the ability to interface and influence senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop a team a team of analysts that will support strategic decision making
Support and enable the GRM President and GRM Chief Financial Officer to effectively understand and manage the financial performance of Global Retail Markets; Provide clear overall understanding of GRM business performance and the financial narrative for external presentations to board of directors, investors, and the overall organization
Set planning guidance and communicate targets that need to be met by regions & functions; Ensure alignment of regional and functional plans to strategic targets; Work closely with Regional CFOs, GRM Strategy, and Global Capital & Risk Management to connect strategy to financial plans and build a broad perspective across region of GRM’s expected business performance
Design, structure, and set bonus plans for regions and functions to align annual incentives for profit and growth. Execute on annual bonus planning including setting scales, forecasting, accrual analysis, and exception management
Own, manage, and support global function budgets. Partner closely with Global Function leaders to understand, track, and manage expense budgets throughout the year
Design the business case process, set the standards, and facilitate executive leadership decisions on trade-offs and considerations for large, strategic investments; Ensure ongoing accountability exists for delivering expected results from key strategic investments. Liaise with regional FP&A leaders to ensure alignment with governance and monitoring protocols
Govern GRM’s progress in achieving its long-term expense goals of 1pt reduction per year. Create focus and ensure that regional CFOs have defined plans in place to achieve targets. Champion an expense conscious mindset that will be critical in helping GRM achieve a competitive structure
Establish and foster strong connections with regional Finance and FP&A teams to effectively collaborate and build a deep understanding of financial performance
Attract, develop, and retain a team and culture of dynamic, high performing individuals. Maintain responsibility for performance management and development for these individuals. Provide visible leadership, effectively manage the team and deliver timely communications and feedback to facilitate alignment behind business strategy
Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting). CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of finance experience.
Must demonstrate ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results.
Must possess the ability to collaborate with peers across the organization to gain support for ideas and execute on projects that deliver value to customers.
Comfortable leading meetings, making strategic recommendations to senior management and giving presentations to increasingly large audiences.
Advanced understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
