Job Opening for Director Of Financial Reporting (Hybrid) in Aston Carter (Mettawa, IL 60045)

You will lead all aspects of external reporting and help drive the close process for a privately held global medical device manufacturer. In this role you will lead the global monthly close process, prepare the financial statements including footnotes, be responsible for researching and providing technical accounting guidance and work closely with external auditors on the US GAAP financial statements. You will be tasked with implementing process improvements and establishing and documenting various policies and procedures. We are looking for this role to expand over time to encompass ownership across other aspects of accounting operations.
The Candidate must possess a strong accounting experience and have a demonstrated track record of success in public accounting and private industry in a variety of accounting roles. Additionally, the Candidate will have experience leading teams and projects in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The Director will have excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills and must work collaboratively with cross-functional partners across the global organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare external reporting in accordance with US GAAP including quarterly and annual financial statements including footnotes
Ensure timeliness and quality of month-end close and quarterly reporting.
Manage and drive improvements to the consolidation and reporting systems
Continually identify opportunities to streamline processes. Engages team in the evaluation of existing processes and related internal controls make recommendations for improvement ensuring robust and appropriate internal controls.
Ensure data integrity and strong internal controls in terms of policies and procedures
Responsible for researching and providing guidance on technical accounting matters affecting the Company and its financial statements
Provide audit and compliance support by satisfying all requests timely and accurately
Review various accounting reconciliations
Lead special projects as assigned that impact SEC, debt / equity offerings and M&A.
Manage the relationship with external auditors, administering their progress and implementing relevant recommendations.
Partner with global finance and accounting teams to develop the company wide accounting process and ensure financial statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP.
Responsible for leading a high performing team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
Licensed CPA (preferred)
Combination of 10+ years across both public and private accounting
Proven purchase accounting expertise with industry or significant public accounting supporting technical accounting
Experience with SAP and Planful (formerly Host Analytics) financial systems preferred
Proven leadership skills and accomplished problem solver
Experience leading and managing a team
Ability to communicate technical accounting solutions
