WHAT’S THE ROLE?
This position will function as a primary financial consultant for Distribution Performance. The position is a strategic position focused on financial consulting and reporting leading to recommendations on achieving office growth and financial stability. Focus will be a combination of projections/modeling, consulting and results analysis and recommendations for improvement as appropriate. The full spectrum of financial aspects may include (but not limited to) financial operations, cost allocations, operational and financial reporting, business plan/financial models, budget coordination as well as cash flow and debt structure to support office and distribution performance objectives.
The position will have significant cross-function coordination to stay aligned with distribution performance and office financial goals, objectives and standards. The position will also have primary responsibility for development of key financial metrics and analyzing and monitoring of compliance with budget and expense guidelines for the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost/benefit analysis Develops and monitors a cost/benefit analysis that includes both financial and non-financial considerations across people, process, technology and facilities that includes the distribution performance network offices and financial representatives.
Monitors, identifies and assesses the impact of deviations of cost and benefit expectations from the original plan and creates recommendations to quickly mitigate unintended consequences.
Projections, modeling and consulting with senior leadership w/in distribution performance and office on best business practices to achieve future profitability while balancing the needs of key partner groups. May include support and analysis to make recommendations for operational enhancements, central initiatives and financing vehicles to support
Bringing thought leadership around how a financial office operates including guiding field/network offices on what tools to use, training on those tools or actions and solutioning complex issues.
Financial Reporting Provide financial support for the organization including reporting and operating expense analysis. Role will be responsible for informing senior leadership about revenues, expenses, profitability expectations and offering recommendations for improvement.
Budget Coordination and Reporting Supervise, review and recommend improvements to annual budget of operating expenses and staffing for all roles within the organization.
Operational Reporting Supervise, review and recommend improvements to the operational reporting process.
Significant Ad Hoc Financial and Data Requests Receive, analyze and respond to (and make recommendations as appropriate) time sensitive cross-functional financial and data requests, generally from senior leadership.
Mentoring junior teammates on technical, financial analysis, this includes evaluation of decisions on cash flow, administration/office interaction and working cross-functionally in the enterprise.
BRING YOUR BEST! WHAT THE ROLE REQUIRES:
Eight-plus years of experience working with operations in a financial capacity, ideally working within (or as a consultant to) financial services operations.
Strong financial and intuition for business.
Demonstrated strong consultation skills to include influence through collaboration and negotiation and ability to influence within group dynamic situations.
Proven ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate future efforts in order to meet business objectives.
Hands-on leader capable of working with financial programs directly as well as working within a matrix management environment to accomplish results.
Demonstrated experience as a self-starter with a drive toward action and results.
Takes the initiative to seek out new information and apply to the job.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to give presentations to senior management, field leaders and financial representatives with confidence.
Ability to develop effective working relationships and gain the confidence of key leaders and business owners in the field and the company.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Able to manage multiple assignments and prioritize effectively
