Vaco Richmond is currently recruiting for a Manager of Financial Reporting for a reputable, publicly traded Richmond based corporation. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and would be responsible for the SEC and GAAP reporting functions, equity accounting, and assisting with investor relations. This is a highly visible role that will work closely with the CFO and executive team.
This position will initially be mostly remote, but will working onsite in the office 2-3 days per week at some point in the near future. Therefore the company will not consider candidates that are only interested in 100% remote work
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review internal monthly financial statements
Assist with post-acquisition procedures for integration, compliance with applicable commitments under the terms of the acquisition contract, post-closing true-up of working capital and other such adjustments, and recording of purchase price allocation
Develop and report relevant financial data for internal use
Prepare and review external financial statements and related disclosure; compile financial data and support Investor Relations drafting press release
Prepare SEC filings, including print, EDGAR and XBRL versions of filings; ensure accuracy of vendor product
Interact with other finance and accounting managers to coordinate close, accounting for stock options and recording of transactions
Partner with Investor Relations to prepare and review data supporting earnings releases, investor presentation, website and any other related documents
Identify and calculate accounting measurement differences between IFRS and US GAAP.
Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
Coordinate with and support external auditors
Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with accounting guidance, provide US GAAP and SEC interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
Oversee equity accounting including issuances, repurchases and dividends. Working with the Investor Relations and Legal teams to ensure compliance with any regulatory requirements
Assist with due diligence/analysis and accounting integration for acquisitions
Qualifications:
BS/BA Accounting, CPA required
5+ years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience
Strong technical accounting (US GAAP and SEC) and research skills
Strong financial acumen, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities; ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
Project management capabilities; detail-oriented with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet all deadlines, delivering quality work with a high sense of urgency and accountability
