Job Description : Financial ControllerTITLE: Financial ControllerDEPARTMENT: FinanceGENERAL SUMMARY: Fast-growing Franchise Fitness Concept based out of Fort Worth, Texas is seeking an energetic and experienced Financial Controller to manage and oversee the Accounting and Finance Department as they continue to expand and grow their brand. This is a full time-position that will be responsible for overseeing the finance department and assisting in growing the department. This position will be responsible for growing and managing the finance and accounting team, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and establishing and overseeing a comprehensive set of controls, budgets and reports, helping to mitigate risk, facilitate management decisions, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).The Financial Controller will also be responsible for managing and performing the month-end close process (Reconciliations, Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis, etc.) and administering biweekly and semi-monthly payroll processes in partnership with the Human Resource Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely to build a solid accounting and finance foundation for the fast-growing company, the Junior Controller will guide and implement the financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems crucial to BODYBAR Pilates Franchising’s success.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITESAccounting Operations: Oversee the planning, directing, and coordinating of all accounting operational functions which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Accurately maintain accounting systems.Management: Develop and lead accounting team including training and retaining skilled staff. Oversee team members responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, commissions, and financial statement preparation. Assist senior management in the decision-making process by providing financial insights based on data analysis.Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting and cash flow management to ensure that the company can meet its obligations and plan appropriately.Administration: Maintain insurance policies and support contract negotiations. Build and maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls transactions to minimize risk and protect company assetsTaxes & Compliance: Coordinate the activities of external auditors and provide needed information for the corporate Tax Returns. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, where applicable. Monitor and analyze the issuance of new accounting principles applicable to the company to ensure smooth implementation in accordance with the transition requirement.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEBachelor / master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar fieldCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferredAdvanced competency in financial management and accounting software, with advanced Excel skills requiredIn-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulationsExperience in corporate finances, auditing, and performance managementExcellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skillsKnowledge of SAP FICo, BI/BW and BPC are an advantageSuperior communication, presentation, and team development skillsTeam playerWhen applying, please include a cover letter that highlights why you are interested in this role and why you feel you are the perfect candidate.
