Individuals may request consideration for exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons.Essential Functions: Be knowledgeable of and adhere to agency policies and procedures, Head Start regulations, local/state child care regulations, and other regulations, as applicableKnowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting principles and how they relate to non-profit organizations, OMB Cost Principles, Code of Federal Regulations (including Title 45 CFR Parts 75 and the Head Start Act), Head Start Performance Standards, and other related government accounting requirements/principles and program instructionsBe knowledgeable of and adhere to service contracts, as applicablePerform management/supervisory functions related to the following assigned personnel: Fiscal AssistantEnsure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and proceduresAdvise Executive Director of all fiscal mattersPrepare, analyze and review budgets, financial statements, and reconciliation for all funding sourcesPresent financial statements and other fiscal matters to the Board of Directors as requestedPrepare reports as required by regulatory and funding sources · Coordinate Finance Committee meetings (quarterly and as necessary)Plan and prepare for annual and other required audits and fiscal monitoringPromote the effective integration of management systems and program servicesAssist staff in effectively planning and managing of their budgetsPropose revisions to agency accounting policies and procedures annually and as necessary and recommend to Executive DirectorAssist in long range financial planning for the agencyDocument Revision / Completion Annual Schedule: Review documents as assigned, submit draft (with markup if revisions are suggested) for review and approval according to timelineEnsure position procedural manual is kept up to date; annually review subordinate position procedural manual(s) to ensure documents are up to dateAct as representative of the agency to vendors when soliciting bids and in fulfilling contractual responsibilities at the discretion of the Executive DirectorWork harmoniously with agency staff and the communityGeneral Responsibilities: Evaluate assigned personnel annually; participate in the selection of new personnel as necessary; assist with grievance resolution; recommend personnel actions and provide guidance to staff in the application of agency policies and procedures; oversee and influence the working conditions of those employees under direct supervisionMust obtain a minimum of 15 professional development hours each year (which includes mandatory attendance at the Annual Summer Institute)Coordinate and garner match contributions (both in-kind and cash)Assist in locating fiscal resources necessary to maintain current levels of service and/or initiating new servicesOther duties and responsibilities as assignedSkill Requirements: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesProficient in the use of MS Excel and MS WordAbility to utilize complex computerized accounting systemsAbility to interpret federal regulations and implement regulation changes into policies/proceduresStrong verbal and written communication skillsSustained concentration and attention to detail and accuracyStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, particularly, mathematical, bookkeeping and regulatory requirementsAbility to understand and implement complex oral and written instructionsAbility to handle multiple tasks and to meet deadlinesStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsEOE / Drug-free WorkplaceJob Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
